
Project Citizen teachers receive
the
Queen Rania Distinguished Teacher Award
Three "Project
Citizen" teachers from the southern district and one teacher from Ajloun in the
north received the Queen Rania Distinguished Teacher Award in appreciation of
their efforts, commitment and role in improving themselves, empowering their
students with critical thinking and creative skills and inspiring them to be
active citizens who are loyal to their country.

Abdullah II launched the Queen Rania Distinguished Teacher Award, in 2005,
seeking to spread the spirit of competitiveness among the Kingdom's educators.
Last November, Mr. Omar Al Qdah from Ajloun, Mrs. Hanan Jbouri from Karak, Mrs.
Najah Al Nawaisseh, and Mrs. Salha Al Sarayra from Al Qasr won the award in its
fourth round. In a small ceremony, JCCES celebrated the occasion with the four
teachers who expressed their gratitude to the Center for its continuous support
and confirmed that the project has played a very important role in their
nominations. Mr Omar Al Qdah, who won the first prize of the fourth category
awards, was hosted by the TV program " Yawm Jadeed". Mr. Al Qdah
enthusiastically talked about the project and its benefits to his students. Mr.
Al Qdah is a teacher at Al Wahadneh School in Ajloun who worked with his grade 9
students on the problem of "Tree Logging in Ajloun District". Mrs. Najah Al
Nawaisseh has been implementing "Project Citizen" with her students for three
years. She also established a "Citizenship Club" for solving community problems.
Najah won the second category award and has recently worked with her students at
Mu'tah Secondary School for Girls on the problem of "Car Accidents". Mrs. Salha
Al Sarayra won the second category award; her tireless work on "Traffic
Awareness" with her grade 10 Students at
